TCES Parent and Family Engagement Plan
Trace Crossings Elementary School
Parent & Family Engagement Plan (2026–2027)
At Trace Crossings Elementary School (TCES), we are committed to fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with our families to enhance student academic achievement. Supported by Title I, Part A funds, this plan outlines our shared commitment under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to ensure every child has the support they need to succeed.
Communication & Accessibility
We prioritize clear, timely, and accessible communication so all families stay informed and involved:
- ParentSquare App: Our main platform for direct communication, announcements, and school engagement.
- Regular Updates: Stay informed through the School Community Update and regular newsletters detailing school programs and activities.
- Flexible Schedules & Support: Meetings are offered at various times (mornings and evenings). Where needed, we assist with childcare, transportation, or alternative arrangements like in-home conferences.
- Inclusive Access: Information is provided in user-friendly formats, with support available for families with limited English proficiency or disabilities.
Family Involvement & Annual Meetings
Your voice matters in shaping our school community and how resources are used:
- Annual Title I Meeting (Every September): Join us each fall to discuss Title I requirements, learn about your rights as a parent, and review our engagement plan.
- Budget Input: Families are invited to share feedback on how the reserved 1% of Title I funds should be allocated to best support parent and family needs.
- School-Parent Compact: Each year, parents and staff jointly review and update this compact, which outlines our shared responsibilities for student success.
- Ongoing Advisory: Participate in regular meetings throughout the school year to review, update, and improve our Title I programs, policies, and overall School Improvement Plan.
Academic Resources & Community Support
We provide tools, training, and partnerships to help you support your child's learning journey:
- Academic Workshops: Parent learning sessions focused on practical literacy and math strategies you can use at home.
- Parent Resource Center: Access print materials, educational games, and digital learning tools for home use.
- Staff Professional Development: We train our teachers and staff on effective communication, building strong family relationships, and valuing the vital contributions parents make to student success.
- Community Partnerships: We collaborate with local businesses, community organizations, and external programs to bring additional learning opportunities and resources to our students and families.
