Mr. Carl Berryhill was appointed principal at Trace Crossings School in July 2024. He comes to Trace Crossings from Green Valley Elementary School where he was the assistant principal for one year. Before Green Valley, he served for 4 years as assistant principal at Gwin Elementary School. Mr. Berryhill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Sports Managment from the University of Alabama. He holds a masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama Birmingham as well as his Eds degree from the University of Montevallo. While working on his graduate degree, he served as a graduate assistant student manager for the University of Alabama football team.
Berryhill began his teaching career teaching sixth-grade social studies at Hamilton Middle School in the Marion County (AL) School System. He continued in that role until he came across an opportunity at Brock’s Gap Intermdiate School in 2012. There, he served as the school’s lead ELI (Engaged Learning Initiative) Facilitator and served as the Junior Varsity Offensive Line Coach for Hoover High School’s football team. Due to rezoning in 2018, Berryhill moved to Simmons Middle School to teach sixth-grade social studies.
